Over the past two decades, stand-up comedy has sunk into a pathetic swamp of generic observations, predictability and safe risks.  Stand-up comedians have traded in their license to speak their minds in favor of pointless musings about their “crazy” families.  Tired clichés such as “cops eat donuts” and “marijuana gives you the munchies” are being packaged as “attitude-driven social commentary.”  All the while, comedy audiences have been hypnotized into thinking that a man in a beret smashing a watermelon is not only hilarious, but philosophical.  Real comedy has been forgotten.

Andy Kline is a real comedian.  He doesn’t perform comedy because of a desperate need for attention.  He isn’t using comedy as a springboard for sitcoms and Sprite commercials.  He won’t pollute your mind with puppets, song parodies and other assorted wackiness.  In short, he won’t waste your time.

Instead, Andy’s comedy offers intelligence, opinions, edginess and actual insight.  So if you’re sick of watching bland, tired comedians, with nothing to say, ramble on about why men and women are different, why marriage sucks or why gay people are great decorators, check out one of Andy’s shows.  You won’t be disappointed.
